ECTN – Electronic Cargo Tracking Note in African Countries
Many African countries require exporters to provide details about their import shipments before the cargo reaches its destination through the use of ECTN (Electronic Cargo Tracking Notice) or CTN (Cargo Tracking Note) certificates.
They are also known as waiver documents or BESC (Bordereau Electronique de Suivi de Cargaison) in French-speaking countries.
The following details are required to be reported on the ECTN. CTN or BSC:
- The nature of goods imported
- The value of the goods
- The shipper
- The importer
- The transport route
- The mode of transport (Container/RORO/Break Bulk)
Currently, 23 African countries require an Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) for all import shipments.
We can issue these certificates for the following countries:
- Angola
- Congo RDC
- Gabon
- Liberia
- Benin
- Cameroon
- Sierra Leone
Please get in touch with us if you need assistance with ECTN for other countries.
The ECTN’s fees vary depending on the destination, the origin of the goods, and the type and quantity of containers and is added to the base cost of your shipment.
