DP World Dakar, a joint venture between the Port Authority of Dakar (PAD) and Dubai-based logistics provider has been created and will operate the terminal.

The first phase

Will consist of:

  • Investment of 800 Million USD.
  • Approximately 800 Mt. of quay.
  • 5 Km. marine channel.
  • Designed to operate 366 Mt.-long ships.

The second phase

Will include the following:

  • Investment of 300 Million USD.
  • Additional 410 Mt. of container quay.
  • Further dredging to manage 400 Mt-long vessels.
  • Special economic zone to be developed by DP World next to the Ndyane port.

Once the new port will start to operate, the port of the Dakar area will be transformed into a residential and commercial waterfront and a cruise terminal.
